My leadership experience began before I graduated from NYIT’s PA program as a NYSSPA board member in the role of student director. I am currently serving my 3rd year on the NYSSPA board as Secretary. My previous engagement included both a committee member our bylaws, and as chair of student affairs committee. Currently I serve as the NYSSPA Secretary and will again represent the PAs of New York at the AAPA House of Delegates this May in New Orleans.
I am appreciative of the opportunity I have had being a part of the NYSSPA leadership. I love being able to advocate for our profession as it matures and grows. Interacting and getting to know PAs from all over New York State has help me to understand the diverse challenges and needs our profession is facing.
I believe it is important to educate legislators and others of the skills and values PAs bring to the market place so we can practice at the top of our license and provide the best care possible to our patients. It is equally important to ensure we maintain parody with our workplace competitors in the primary care setting, our skills, training, and patients demand it. I look forward to using my previous board experiences and skills to further NYSSPA's mission, and thus the growth of the PA profession.
I thank you in advance for your support and allowing me to serve as your Secretary and as your AAPA House of Delegates Representative.
