Frank Rizzuto PA-C, MBA
I have been a practicing PA in Long, Island NY for over 23 years.  My career began at Winthrop University Hospital in the department of Thoracic and Cardiovascular surgery, a specialty I still practice in today.  I have watched the evolution of our profession over the years from both clinical and administrative perspectives.  Our clinical reach has grown tremendously, as has our involvement in administrative positions in all facets of healthcare at the hospital level, to positions that allow advocacy for our profession at the national level.  This growth has only been possible because of the dedicated, hard work and vision of PA's willing to initiate the needed change within a system filled with inertia.

PA education is what empowers all of us.  As a clinician, I understand the challenges newly graduated PA's face in the healthcare landscape. Ten years ago, I began the first Critical Care PA fellowship program in NYS at Winthrop University hospital; empowering PA's with the advanced knowledge and technical skills that has better prepared them for successful careers in this highly focused field of medicine.  From a business perspective, marketability is paramount.  I continue this vision today, where I am currently the Program Director for Clinical Training and Education for Cardiothoracic Surgery within the Northwell Healthcare system. Continued education remains a focus of my career.  To better understand Healthcare from an administrative level, I received an MBA from Adelphi University and plan to continue my mission by pursing a doctorate in Education Leadership.

The PA profession still remains in a pivotal time.  Positive change and professional progress can only be achieved with continued dedication to voicing our concerns and supporting the growth of our fantastic profession on local, state and national levels. I would appreciate the honor of being your voice as District E Director on the NYSSPA Board of Directors.  Together, I know we can successfully navigate any headwinds our profession faces in the midst of continued healthcare reform.
