PLATFORM DATA:
Providing excellent patient care has been my top priority for the past eight years. As a PA I know we are well prepared to provide quality care for patients in primary care settings and specialties. Optimal team practice (OTP) will improve work environments for all PAs, especially as more job opportunities are being lost to our nursing counterparts. Team based practice is essential and I believe we can effectively continue providing team based care without the barriers that supervision impose on our physician colleagues. As PAs, we can handle a good portion of the medical care and we will collaborate with physicians as needed to provide the best care for our patients. Delivering this excellent care, in turn, increases PA recognition. While I know significant strides have been made so far we must be present at the leadership table to make the difference. There are now increased avenues for practicing PAs to become leaders in healthcare and I will travel these paths to advance our profession.
