I first want to thank you for the opportunity to run for the position of Delegate. I am very passionate about PA leadership and the need to incorporate leadership skills and training into PA curriculums as one of the core competencies. I recently had the honor of personally being invited by Jennifer (Jenna) Dorn CEO of AAPA to participate in a PAEA roundtable at AAPA headquarters with other incredible PA leaders for a day to talk about evaluating the core competencies of PA graduates. One of the major domains was Interprofessional and Collaborative Practice in Leadership. I feel as PAs move forward to lead organizations and health initiatives we need to provide effective tools to facilitate managing organizations, leading change and build best practices with strong leaders at the helm.
I also feel strongly about being a conduit of information and advocating for other PA issues representing NYSPPA is also very important. I feel my existing relationship with AAPA will bring increased alignment in representing NYSSPA as it pertains to core values, improvement, and room for any opportunities in our profession.
